There is always something going on in the Wildwoods. There are events for everyone in the family such as the Boardwalk Classic Show, Monster Trucks, Motor cross racing and the Powerboat racing. The International Kite festival, Fabulous 50's Weekend, the Craft Shows and who can forget the Irish Festival. During the vacation season there is a fireworks display on the beach every Friday night. The Wildwoods, NJ is home to the largest collection of mid-century resort architecture in the country! Held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night in the summer, the tour leaves from the front of the Doo Wop Experience Museum, 4500 Ocean Avenue, in Wildwood at 8 p.m. Riders can re-live the exciting 1950's and 1960's in the Wildwoods-By-The-Sea. See the best of the Wildwoods' Doo Wop style landmarks while a knowledgeable guide in Fifties attire recounts the popular culture of the era. A weekly ceremony every Sunday morning to raise the casket flag of a Veteran to honor and remember ALL Veterans, held at the Lou Booth Amphitheater at 2nd and Ocean Avenues in North Wildwood. Arrive 10 minutes before sunrise to participate in a 20-minute tribute and inspirational message at the most beautiful vista on the Jersey Shore. This location offers photo ops galore! Notre Dame de la Mer Parish Music Ministry proudly presents the annual DINNER THEATER CABARET STYLE, bringing a taste of Broadway here to South Jersey. The show will take place at Cape Trinity Early Education Center, 2901 NJ Ave, Wildwood and is being directed by our very own Director of Music Ministry, Jonathan Delgado and will feature the Notre Dame de la Mer Summer Players. Wildwood Beach Patrol proudly hosts the Annual Beach day with 21 Down. 10 a.m.The central meeting area will be at Lincoln Avenue and the beach at 10 a.m., in front of Wildwood Beach Patrol Headquarters, at the 20-foot guard tower dubbed “Tower X.” 21 Down is a non-profit, Down Syndrome awareness group serving families, educators and healthcare professionals of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. Their mission is to create awareness and acceptance of people with developmental disabilities while providing information, support and community events for their families. The Beach Day incorporates safe, guarded ocean play time for the children and families of 21 Down, as well as opportunities for interaction and educational opportunities with seasoned inlet lifeguards as they discuss beach safety with attendees. Short breaks for lifeguard style relay races, lunch, cold beverages and ice cream are also provided as beach safety is reinforced. The Wildwood Beach Patrol, with the support of local community businesses, strives to create great Wildwood memories for these children and their families with the Beach Day event. A fun event for infants and toddlers (up to 2 years old) to show off their speedy crawling or "waddling" technique on the day before the official Wildwoods Baby Parade! The Baby Waddle takes place at 10:30 a.m. on the grassy circle in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Registration will begin at the circle at 9:30 a.m. Waddle begins at 10:30 a.m. SHARP! Prizes will be awarded and registration is FREE. A Wildwoods tradition since 1909! Registration at Wildwoods Convention Center from 4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. No entries accepted after 5:30 p.m. PARADE ROUTE will start at the Wildwoods Sign at Rio Grande Avenue. Judging occurs while participants are lined up at the Wildwoods Sign (Hand Avenue Parking Lot). Line-up begins at 5:30 p.m., parade steps off at 6 p.m. SHARP with final route starting at the Wildwoods Sign heading North on the Wildwoods Boardwalk – Exit at Montgomery Avenue – Cross Ocean Avenue – each contestant will be announced while entering Fox Park. Baby Parade Winners are announced following the parade.
